Recap: Tender Loving Empire’s All Together Fest!

This year marked Tender Loving Empire’s 10th anniversary, and another year of All Together Fest. This local Portland festival runs for five days (Nov. 1-5), spreading all over the city at different venues, and featuring local businesses, art, and musical artists.

This year, the daytime vendors included Fire Brew, Letterpress PDX, Marshall’s Haute Sauce, and more! Along with supporting local upstarting businesses, the daytime fun allowed for all age events such as coloring book time and readings for children.

There was also something for the late-night music crowd: a series of evening shows across Southeast Portland at Holocene, The Know, Doug Fir, and Revolution Hall. Many of the participating bands are also signed to the local label. Y La Bamba, Typhoon, Loch Lomond, Magic Sword, Finn Riggins, and co-founder of TLE, Jared Mees, all made an appearance at the festival, representing TLE and supporting the great work that they do!

All Together Fest celebrated just that: being all together and part of this local art family. The first night started off big, with Bryson Cone, Black Belt Eagle Scout, deathlist, Kelli Schaefer, Reptaliens, and MAARQUII filling Holocene with dreamy melodies. On November 2nd, Bells Atlas, Savila, Y La Bamba, and Orquestra Pacifico Tropical celebrated the holiday Dia De Los Muertos, which kicked off with a parade and traditional Aztec Altar Ritual Dance. Dan Dan, New Move, Finn Riggins, and Slow Corpse took off at The Know, lighting the stage with smooth electronic beats, saxophone solos, and sweet guitar riffs. At Doug Fir on the fourth night, power synth and hip hop took stage in the forms of MY BODY, Chanti Darling, and Magic Sword. And of course, with Sunday November 5th marking the end of the festival, TLE’s own Jared Mees, Loch Lomond, and Typhoon flowed through Revolution Hall with a mellow, beautiful soul.

Thus marks another year of All Together Fest, and another birthday for Tender Loving Empire! Don’t forget to stop by a TLE store near you and support local artists!
